Description

The 1976 Pontiac Trans Am, finished in Metallic Silver on Black interior features distinctive styling, including a wraparound rear deck spoiler, front air dam, wheel opening air deflectors, and front fender air extractors. It also had Trans Am decals on the fenders, a blacked-out grille, and 15″ x 7″ Rally II wheels. The Trans Am offered a choice of engines, with the 400 ci V8 being standard and the 455 ci V8 being optional.

Key features of the 1976 Pontiac Trans Am:

• Styling: Wraparound rear deck spoiler, new front air dam, wheel opening air deflectors, front fender air extractors, Trans Am decals and removable hatch roof.
• Grille: Blacked-out.
• Wheels: 15″ x 7″ Rally II wheels.

Trans Ams carried a standard 185 horsepower 400-cid V-8, as they had in 1975. Trans Ams continued to display their immense Firebird emblem, sometimes derided as the “screaming chicken.”
